In episode 11 of Dr. Marianne-Land: An Eating Disorder Recovery Podcast, Eden Davis and I talk about polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), nutrition, and eating disorders.
ABOUT EDEN DAVIS, RDN LDN
Eden Davis, RDN LDN co-owner of Pearl Wellness Practice. Within the practice, she and her partner have an in-house dietitian and therapist offering services for Eating Disorders and PCOS.
Eden Davis is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who practices medical nutrition therapy through Health At Every Size (HAES) and weight inclusivity. Prior to starting private practice, Eden gained experience in the Eating Disorder field while serving as the lead RD for a Partial Hospitalization Program. She incorporates her previous experience into her practice by providing knowledgable, sound, realistic, and evidence-based nutrition recommendations. Along with Eating Disorders, Eden also works with clients for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and gastrointestinal health concerns. She enjoys focusing on gentle nutrition through increasing nutrient variety, sharing evidence based nutrition practices, and implementation of practical behavioral enhancements.
Eden became an eating disorder specialist because she desires to help people see life beyond the nutrition label. Nutrition plays a powerful role in the body, but it goes far beyond the calorie count. Food provides us with fuel, nutrients, memories, culture, celebrations, and strength. Seeing somebody heal their relationship with food and body is what drives the work she does.
She is located in Maryland and practices in CA, AZ, MD, DC, VA, and NJ.

In episode 10 of Dr. Marianne-Land: An Eating Disorder Recovery Podcast, Brenna O'Malley, RD of @thewellful and I explore food allergies and eating disorders.
ABOUT BRENNA O'MALLEY, RD OF @THEWELLFUL
Brenna O’Malley is a a registered dietitian and owner of The Wellful, a virtual nutrition therapy private practice based in San Francisco, California. Brenna became an eating disorder specialist because she really valued her personal experience working with a dietitian in high school. In this episode, Emiko Jaffe and I explore what weight-neutral fitness means and how people in all shapes and sizes of bodies can begin a positive relationship with movement.
About Emiko Jaffe
Emiko is a weight-neutral, size-inclusive fitness coach in San Diego, California who helps people perform the activities they care about most with more ease, efficiency and enjoyment without pursuing intentional weight loss.
Emiko pivoted to becoming a weight-neutral, size-inclusive fitness trainer when she realized the harm and futility in most attempts at sustainable, intentional weight loss. She finds that her focus on actual fitness (what our bodies can DO) and not on intentional weight loss or aesthetics makes it compatible with the goals of many people who are in recovery from an eating disorder or have otherwise received clearance from their eating disorder team who also want to pursue fitness goals (increasing strength, stamina, mobility, overall health and well being).

For this episode, I interviewed Jasmine Jacquess, M.A., PLPC. We talked about avoidance, control, body image standards, and the notion of the strong, Black woman.
About Jasmine Jacquess, M.A, PLPC
Jasmine is a clinical mental health counselor in the state of Missouri. She has a background in sports psychology, trauma, eating disorders, and racial concerns. Jasmine is passionate about learning as much as she can in this life while enjoying the slow and mundane parts of it. Her faith and spirituality are important to her vision and drive in life. Overall, she'd describe herself as the calm friend, a quirky individual, foodie, and someone who's always down to have a good conversation.
As Jasmine says, there are so many rules around food and body. It creates so many limitations more than people realize. Suddenly your clothes are too much, food is too much, the way you look is too much, then you start to isolate or demean yourself. It's just a spiral. Rather than people saying "hey, this isn't true or normal," it gets brushed off and we internalize it. Jasmine struggled with that mentality alone for years, and after she was able to recognize there is so much more to life, it helped set her free. As a counselor, she wants to help others get out of their rut.
Jasmine has an amazing blog on her website, so check it out! :)
