Fitness Culture, Body Image, & Joyful Movement With @thoughtfullyfueled Lisa Schrader, RD

In episode 38 of Dr. Marianne-Land: An Eating Disorder Recovery Podcast, Lisa Schrader, RD and I discuss all things body image and joyful movement, and we dive into the dark side of fitness culture and highlight how Lisa takes a different approach.

ABOUT LISA SCHRADER, RD

Lisa Schrader is a non-diet dietitian, weight-neutral personal trainer, and the founder of Thoughtfully Fueled. Lisa uses the Intuitive Eating framework to help active women understand what works best for their body, all while improving their relationship with food and movement. After years of working in the fitness industry and feeling pressure to “look the part,” Lisa now lives a fully fueled life (free of macros, meal plans, and weigh-ins) and teaches others how to do the same!

Before Thoughtfully Fueled, Lisa spent years in the fitness industry watching individuals be brainwashed by diet culture disguised as “healthy” or “clean” eating. During this time Lisa was under so much pressure to “look the part” that she found herself constantly thinking about food, skipping social events to workout, and even comparing her body to unrealistic photos on the internet. This is when she decided to break away from diet culture mentality and begin her intuitive fueling journey which has completely changed the way she views food, movement, and her own body.

Lisa is located in Chicago, Illinois in the US, and she also is licensed in Illinois, Texas, and Georgia to practice medical nutrition therapy. She can work with people in states that don't require licenses as well.
