Colonization, Eating, & Body Image With Dr. Panicha McGuire, LMFT, RPT

We also examine how many eating disorder treatment centers do not take ethnic and cultural food needs and desires into consideration when feeding their patients.

ABOUT DR. PANICHA MCGUIRE, LMFT, RPT

Dr. Panicha McGuire is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Registered Play Therapist, and the founder of Living Lotus Therapy. She is licensed in California, Colorado, and Hawaii, with a focus on supporting children, teens, and young adults. Her approach is grounded in neurodiversity affirmation. She specializes in helping clients develop tools to manage anxiety, perfectionism, and how to navigate life’s challenges as a neurodivergent individual.
 
Dr. Panicha also works with individuals who experience eating issues, such as avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) in part because they are neurodivergent. She has a podcast on mental health and other therapy issues called Burning the Couch.
